Features
WynnChaYuan puts the English on your Wynncraft screen into your language, and whether the original stays is up to you. Play with the preview below first; further down is what gets translated and what else comes with it.
The options on the left are the ones in the mod’s settings screen (type /wcy in chat to open it); the translations in the preview come straight from the mod’s corpus.
What gets translated
- Item tooltips
- Gear lore, stats and Major IDs. In a panel beside the tooltip, or written into the tooltip itself.
- Ability trees
- Nodes, descriptions and archetypes for all five classes.
- Quest dialogue and choices
- Written into Wynncraft’s own dialogue box, with the frame, nameplate and portrait kept and the text typed out in step with the original; or shown in a separate box.
- Quest tracker
- Its own box; the heading says what is being tracked: a quest, a world event, a cave, a raid.
- NPC nameplates and floating text
- A box while you look at one, or replaced in place. Crafting stations and interaction prompts are included.
- Chat messages
- Messages from the server: quest completions, rewards, entering and leaving areas. Column layouts stay aligned; what players say is never translated.
- Menus and interfaces
- The trade market, guild, store and other screens.
- Lootruns, raids, dungeons
- Missions, boons, beacons, aspects and gambits, plus the end-of-run and loot panels.
- Discoveries and secret discoveries
- Names, descriptions and stories.
- Title text
- The big title and subtitle in the middle of the screen.
Gear names stay in English by default: they are proper nouns, and the trade market and the wiki use the English ones. You can turn translated names on in the settings.
Tools that come with it
- Translations update themselves
- Once a new translation is merged it shows up the next time you start the game, with no mod update. Offline, the last copy you downloaded is used.
- Market search
- Search the trade market in your language; the English name is what gets sent. Matches are listed as you type.
- Names your way
- Names of quests, caves, discoveries and other content can be shown translated, translated with the original, or left in the original.
- Fallback language
- For lines your language does not have yet, show another language instead, or keep the original.
- Panels where you want them
- Every box can be dragged into place; dialogue, choices and the tracker can also be resized from the corner.
- Copy chat and panel screenshots
- List recent chat messages and click one to copy it; save the translation panel as an image. Handy when you report a problem.
- Update from inside the game
- When a new version is out, one click on the release notes screen downloads it, and it is swapped in when you close the game.
- Settings
- Type
/wcyin chat, or open them from Mod Menu. Hover an option for an explanation; the preview on the right follows the values you set.
Works with
- Wynntils 4.2+Required
- Item, quest and chat data all come from it; its own screens are translated too.
- Fabric APIRequired
- A dependency, like Wynntils.
- Mod MenuOptional
- Adds a settings button to the mod list.
- WynnMarketSearchOptional
- Its search panel accepts translated names, and shows them next to the English ones in the results.
- WynnventoryOptional
- Its price box, reward screens and settings are translated too; hold Shift to see the original.
- WynnModCompatible
- The few lines it reads to tell how a raid ended stay in English, so your streak is counted right.
Mods not listed here usually work too: WynnChaYuan only changes the text on your own screen, and the server does not need it.
